Sandy is drawn to capture the simple elegance in the curve of a leaf, subtle shifts in colour, and the radiance of light as it interacts with form, all in a moment in time. Her large florals possess dramatic flare while retaining a soft subtlety, a combination which can be challenging to achieve in acrylic renderings. Her large paintings are often embellished with hints of gold. 
She enjoys seeking inspiring images nestled in the abundant natural beauty of British Columbia.

Sandy’s early artistic development and training were influenced by the cultural stimulation offered by living within the Metropolitan hub of neighboring New York City. Embracing the Canadian West Coast, she currently resides in Victoria, British Columbia.

She applied her creativity and artistic talents with children, as a teacher in the Public School System and as a mother, for many years. Once she was able to make creating art a priority, her work transformed. Her floral series reflects her own flowering as a full time artist.

Sandy is an award winning member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Her work is in private collections in Canada and the United States.
